The following
table lists and describes the databases for raw materials provided
by Matrix.
You may wish
to create other databases which are collections of materials conveniently
stored together.
Matrix uses
the convention of storing a newly entered material in one of the
four categories of databases named Feldspars, Clays, Fritts and
Others. There may be more than on database in each category but
a raw material should only be saved in one of these categories when
first entered.
Two special
databases have been created for the convenience of collecting materials
together so that they are easily located.
The most important
of these is the Local Materials.rmt file which is Matrix's
default database. If you copy into this file from the other databases
materials which you very frequently use in your recipes then you
will make the process of entering and altering recipe much faster.
The Auto
Materials.rmt file is a special collection of selected materials
from your Local Materials.rmt file. Its use is explained here.
The GB_Subs.rmt
file is an example of a list of materials copied into one database
for the simple convenience of having potential substitutes for Gerstly
Borate in one file. All of the materials in such files as these
three will have been first entered and saved in one of the basic
storage databases Feldspars, Clays, Fritts or Others.

and stored on an alphabetical basis.
