Lesson Number 18
Substituting materials in the Formula to Recipe Environment in Matrix.

In lesson 17 you learned to substitute materials in the Recipe to Formula environment of Matrix. You experienced some of the frustrations which can arise when alternative substitutions need to be found for complex materials such as frits, feldspars or clay. Creating a new recipe with different materials to chemically match an original recipe can be a time consuming exercise in the Recipe to Formula environment.

After your experiences in the previous week's work you may now have some idea of how easy the task of finding substitutions can be in the Formula to Recipe environment.

In this lesson we will look at how simple it is to find alternative materials which will give an EXACT chemical match for the original glaze.

Full lessons contain content and activities not listed above. More lessons will be added to this list as they are completed.
